Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace was a high-scoring one for the Blues on the pitch and confident fans on Play Predictor.

The wait until the second half to open the scoring despite our dominance threw a few people off in their predictions, as did goals from two defenders in Ben Chilwell and Kurt Zouma, alongside a brace of penalties by Jorginho, but those confident enough to predict a heavy victory for the Blues scored big as a result.

Our first winner in October is Junaid, who amassed a massive 62 points from his predictions for Saturday’s match to outscore more than 67,000 of his fellow Blues supporters in the Play Predictor leaderboard.

He was certainly rewarded for his optimism, getting the 4-0 scoreline and our eight corners spot on, while also getting points for being close to predicting the hefty 71 per cent possession and 17 shots.

‘I am very pleased and feeling very happy to get the prizes,’ said a delighted Junaid. ‘I want to thank Chelsea Football Club, all the staff members, especially our coach Frank Lampard and all the players for their effort putting smiles on our faces!’

Junaid certainly earned his victory, being one of just 31 fans, or 0.05 per cent, to correctly predict that we would end the match as 4-0 winners over Palace. Similarly, only 117 other fans predicted that Ben Chilwell would open the scoring with his first goal for Chelsea on his Premier League debut for the club.

Once again, Timo Werner was the overwhelming favourite in that category, featuring in a huge 68 per cent of predictions, followed by his fellow German international Kai Havertz with 13 per cent.

Whether you put in a great performance to keep pace with Junaid or suffered a bad weekend with your predictions, there are still plenty more points on offer in October with five more Chelsea fixtures to predict in the Premier League and Champions League this month.

So get your thinking cap on over the international break to make sure you score high when the actions returns with the match against Southampton at Stamford Bridge. Play Predictor reopens for you to submit your predictions for that game at 3pm UK time on Thursday 15 October and closes one hour before kick-off.

With just 10 points separating the top 20 fans in the monthly leaderboard, there is still all to play for in October. Whoever sits first in the table at the end of the month will receive a £500 Megastore voucher and a signed merchandise bundle, while there is a £100 Megastore voucher and signed shirt up for grabs for the winner in every game.
