Having played four games in the first half of her second season in west London, Nouwen put pen to paper on a new deal with the Blues, which runs until the summer of 2025, and in January she embarked on a loan to AC Milan for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign.

On the international stage, Nouwen starred for the Netherlands at various age groups and stepped up to the senior side in 2019. She scored in the victory over Estonia which secured their spot at the 2022 European Championships where she represented her country, and was part of the squad at the Olympics the previous year.

Nouwen was a member of the Netherlands squad which reached the quarter-finals of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She made her World Cup debut during a 1-1 draw with the United States in the group stage.
