Chelsea full-back Niamh Charles has been added to the England squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Iceland.
Charles made her long-awaited return from injury at the end of last month, coming off the bench in our Women's Super League victory over Aston Villa at Kingsmeadow in what was her first appearance of 2026.
She was also introduced as a substitute in our Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, before starting in our FA Cup quarter-final victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Kingsmeadow.
Having proved her fitness in those fixtures, England head coach Sarina Wiegman has opted to add the 26-year-old to her squad for the Lionesses upcoming fixtures.
The defender is the fifth Chelsea player to have been included in the squad, alongside Hannah Hampton, Lucy Bronze, Keira Walsh and Lauren James.
England take on Spain at Wembley on Tuesday 14 April, and then travel to Reykjavik to face Iceland in what is the Lionesses' 500th game.
