Hannah Hampton and Lucy Bronze have been named in the Women's Euro 2025 Team of the Tournament after playing an integral role in England’s run to glory.

Hampton played every minute of the Lionesses’ dramatic triumph and came to the fore in the knockout stages. The goalkeeper was outstanding against Sweden in the quarter-finals, keeping England in the tournament with several fine stops at 2-0 down. She backed that up with two penalty saves in the shoot-out that followed.

Against Spain on Sunday, more Hampton heroics helped England win the Euros for a second tournament running. She was faultless in the two hours of football played before the penalty shoot-out, and when it arrived, Hampton kept out efforts from Mariona Caldentey and Aitana Bonmati to hand England an advantage they did not waste. Our number one was subsequently named Player of the Match.

Bronze also started every game for England, missing just 34 minutes of action as she battled through the pain barrier to pick up her second European Championship winners’ medal. Team-mates and head coach alike were full of praise for Bronze’s commitment and quality during a testing few weeks.

The full-back’s individual highlight came in the quarter-final. Bronze kept pushing England forward against Sweden even when all her hope seemed lost, and it was her far-post run and clever header that got Sarina Wiegman’s side back in the contest at 2-1. In the ensuing shoot-out, her emphatic penalty proved the decisive one in sudden death.

In the final against Spain, she made history by playing her 36th knockout game at a major tournament. That figure is a record for an England player.

Hampton and Bronze are two of four Lionesses named in the Team of the Tournament, alongside Alessia Russo and Chloe Kelly. There are four Spaniards, too. The full team is:
