Alyssa Thompson has been nominated for the Women's Super League Goal of the Season award.
Thompson celebrated her 21st birthday the day before we travelled to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal in November and the forward marked the occasion by scoring a stunning first league goal for the Blues.
‘When everyone ran around me, I just felt like a sense of belonging and a part of the team that I didn't feel before,’ said Thompson when describing that strike. ‘I think it was just feeling like… OK, I'm here now. I'm a part of Chelsea.'
It will come as no surprise to hear the superb finish is one of nine strikes to be nominated for WSL Goal of the Season for 2025/26 and you can vote for Thompson via this link. Voting is open now and will close at 4pm on Monday 18 May.
Alyssa is also up for the Player of the Season award and the winner for both prizes will be announced at the WSL Awards evening on Monday 18 May.
Good luck, Alyssa!
