In a new feature ahead of our pre-season tour, we speak to Chelsea players about their first visit to the USA. First up is birthday boy Trevoh Chalobah, who recalls a seminal moment in his playing career.

The defender joined the travelling party for our Final Whistle on Hate fixture against New England Revolution in Massachusetts in May 2019, and here are his memories…

'My first time in America was the charity game in Boston. It was my first game for Chelsea as well, so it was good.

'I had come come back from being on loan and ended up training with the first team for a bit. Then I got told I was going to travel with the squad out to America and play in that game, so it was exciting!

'I thought I was going to be on holiday, but to get told I was going away somewhere with the first team, I’ll take that over a holiday any day.

'Reece [James] and I went out there. Conor [Gallagher] too, as well as a few others. I think we had one day to walk around Boston a bit, but that was it. We didn’t get a chance to really explore and experience, but it was still a good trip to be on.'
