Sonia Bompastor has confirmed Keira Walsh and Aggie Beever-Jones have been ruled out for the Women's Super League match against West Ham United this weekend, but explained that Kadeisha Buchanan and Mayra Ramirez are making good progress.

The Blues were last in action on 21 December, when we put nine past Liverpool as we advanced to the Women's League Cup semi-final before the winter break began.

Bompastor has been preparing her side for our first match of 2026 since 2 January, when the Blues returned to training at our winter training camp in Portugal. Now back on home soil, the boss delivered the team news ahead of our Women's Super League clash with West Ham at Kingsmeadow on Sunday.

'I don't think Keira will be available for the game at the weekend, but she's in a good place,' said Bompastor. 'Aggie trained this morning. She won't be available for the weekend, but probably next weekend.'

Buchanan has been out of action since suffering an ACL injury in November 2024, while Ramirez is yet to feature this season since having surgery in early September on a hamstring problem sustained in our pre-season friendly against AC Milan.

While Bompastor confirmed Buchanan and Ramirez would not be ready for the West Ham game this weekend, she gave an update on their recovery.

'Kadeisha is progressing really well and is not far from being back in normal training with the team,' she continued. 'So it's really positive news. I can't put a time frame on her return, but hopefully it will be soon.

'Mayra is now back at Cobham, and it's also difficult to say when she will return but she will soon be doing some rehab in and around the group. So we will see maybe next week if we have some more details on when she'll be back with the team.'
