Chelsea head coach Sonia Bompastor has no fresh injury concerns heading into tomorrow's London derby against Arsenal, but Guro Reiten is on parental leave and will miss the game.
The Blues will travel across the capital to face the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium, and will do so following a 2-0 victory over London City Lionesses last weekend that kept us top of the Women's Super League table.
Those who featured at Stamford Bridge came through the fixture unscathed and Bompastor was pleased to report in her pre-match press conference that there are no other new injury concerns.
'Everyone is fine,' the Blues head coach said. 'The only one unavailable from last weekend is Guro Reiten.
She is in Norway right now [with her partner] as they are expecting their baby, so it's positive news. We are waiting to hear the latest on that.'
Bompastor also issued a positive update on Lauren James, with the Blues forward back in group training this week.
The 24-year-old is yet to feature for Chelsea this season as she has been recovering from an injury sustained while helping England retain the European Championship this summer.
'LJ is really close to coming to the squad, probably for the next game,' confirmed Bompastor. 'But not for this weekend.'
The Blues have enjoyed a rare full week on the training pitches at Cobham, which has given Bompastor valuable time to work with her squad.
And the Blues head coach has been hugely impressed with the application and attitude of her players in the lead-up to an important game in the WSL title race.
‘I’m someone who really looks forward to having training sessions with a lot of intensity,' she continued. 'The intentions are really important, the mentality players bring into every training session is really important. And also working hard. So this week, in terms of in possession and out of possession, most of the things were great.
'It comes from having the right mentality and good behaviours on the pitch, and the quality was also there. So I’m really happy with that.
'I am someone who is always looking for the fine details, and in that sense, this week has been incredible. So hopefully, we will show that on the pitch tomorrow in the game.’
