Sonia Bompastor has revealed Millie Bright will miss Sunday's trip to Liverpool, while our head coach also provided updates on Catarina Macario, Wieke Kaptein and Keira Walsh.
Bright was substituted for Chloe Sarwie in the 83rd minute during Sunday's 2-0 win over Tottenham after being on the receiving end of an accidental kick from the opposition.
That contact injury will keep Bright out of Sunday's Women's Super League clash with Liverpool, but is unlikely to see her absent in the long term.
'Millie got a knock on her ankle, and she won’t be available for the weekend,' said Bompastor. 'She’s in a good place and while she’s not available for the weekend, we are hoping to see her before the international break.
'We’ll go day by day and see how she recovers. She’s tough.'
Kaptein was not in the squad for the win over Spurs after she suffered a small injury problem, but there was positive news on her recovery, along with fellow midfielder Walsh.
'Wieke is back with us,' continued the Chelsea head coach. 'She’ll be in contention for the game on Sunday and has been in full training with us this week.
'Keira is in full training and will be in contention for the game as well.'
Meanwhile, Macario has not featured in the squad in 2026 due to injury, and Bompastor gave an update on how she is progressing with her recovery.
'Cat is not available right now due to injury,' she said. 'She's also not involved in the Champions League squad [like you mentioned]. We'll see. We are assessing Cat every week, making sure she will be able to play for us before the end of the season.'
