Chelsea FC Women face Bayern Munich in the second leg of our Women’s Champions League semi-final this afternoon and Millie Bright is confident the Blues can turn the tie around.

With no midweek game, Emma Hayes’ side have had a week to analyse our 2-1 first leg defeat in Germany and prepare for today’s return leg at Kingsmeadow. The Blues head into the clash with an away goal and having created a host of chances in the opening leg in Germany, Bright believes Chelsea are capable of responding with a match-winning performance and clinching a place in the final for the first time in our history.Bright said: ‘With every setback, there’s been a stronger comeback. We’ve learnt a lot about ourselves collectively, it’s a season that we’ve wanted to be winners in and no matter what it is that we are competing for, we always want to lift that trophy.‘What we are aiming to do, it remains the same. It’s to have high quality sessions, push one another every single day and to never settle for what we’ve done. We always want more.‘Sunday is a big game, but we don’t look too far ahead. Before we start thinking about anything else, there is a big 90-minute performance that needs to be put in and that’s all we are focusing on right now.’

Chelsea have netted 109 times in all competitions this season, including a vital away goal in our first leg tie and Bright says there is a belief in the Blues squad that we have the quality to punish our German opponents. She added: ‘We’ve been producing goals all season. We are capable of putting the ball into the back of the net and we have the quality to do that.‘We have to remain patient and composed throughout the game and it’s a game of 90 minutes, so it doesn’t have to be won in the first five minutes.‘We have to focus on ourselves and be ready for Sunday, but the away goal was crucial for us. It puts us in a good position, and we are ready for it.’Today’s game kicks-off at 12.30pm UK time (1.30pm CET) and is available to watch live on BT Sport.
