Willy Caballero added his name to the long list of people praising Moises Caicedo after the midfielder delivered another virtuoso performance for Chelsea, this time against Liverpool.

Caicedo thundered the Blues ahead with a stunning strike early on. The quality of the goal proved emblematic of his overall display, with the Ecuadorian routinely winning possession back and instigating attacks.

Assistant coach Caballero stepped in for Enzo Maresca to conduct post-match media duties after the Italian was dismissed for two yellow cards. Our former goalkeeper explained Caicedo’s recent performances have been all the more impressive because he is having to be carefully looked after having played so much football in the past 18 months or so.

'About Moi, what else can we say? He has played a lot of games with the Club World Cup and with the national team, so we need to manage him sometimes as we want him to arrive to matches feeling well.

'Against Liverpool, he did, once again, a great job and had a great game. Also, he scored a fantastic goal that gave us an opportunity to manage the game a little bit more.

Caballero added: 'We need to keep an eye on him because all the players who played constantly from [the start of] last season are living with some things, which is why we think about Moi and Enzo (Fernandez). Sometimes, they need to do partial team training because we want them to arrive well to the game.’
