Andreas Christensen and Barnsley’s Michal Helik and Mads Anderson are suspended following their red cards at the weekend.
Yellow cards only count in the competition they are received. In the Carabao Cup, two yellow cards will result in a one-match suspension. The cut-off point is the quarter-finals, so no player can miss the final through cumulative yellows.
Darren Bond refereed two Barnsley Championship games last season and in their game at West Brom he issued 11 yellow cards. This is his first Chelsea appointment.
