Chelsea have been drawn to play Manchester City in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

The Blues, ball number eight in tonight’s draw, will travel to the Etihad, with the tie scheduled to take place in the week commencing November 7, later than usual because of the unusual timing of the 2022 World Cup.

We last faced City in this competition in the 2019 final, which they won on penalties after a goalless draw at Wembley. Prior to that we played the Citizens in November 1984 at Stamford Bridge, winning 4-1 in the fourth round, then nearly a decade later, in 1993, we lost 1-0 at Maine Road in the third round of this competition, where we will meet again in 10 weeks' time.

Exact fixture details will be confirmed in due course, along with ticket and travel information.
