Trevoh Chalobah was frustrated with the Blues’ inefficiency in front of goal against Burnley that played its part in us dropping two points at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea dominated for vast swathes of the game but could not add to Joao Pedro’s early strike before Wesley Fofana was dismissed for a second bookable offence with 20 minutes remaining.

That meant Burnley were still in the contest as it entered the closing stages, and they snatched a point through an injury-time equaliser. For the second league fixture running, we had lost a lead at home.

‘It’s what we’ve struggled with in the last two games,’ said Chalobah.

‘We have had so many chances. It’s what we need to work on going forward – how to kill teams off. We have got one of the highest xGs in the league and we’re not capitalising on that.

‘Red cards change games and it made it difficult for us. Conceding at the end was a killer because I thought we defended well until that point.’

The Blues have to regroup quickly ahead of next weekend’s visit to league leaders Arsenal. The race for a Champions League spot is hotting up - with Liverpool and Manchester United our closest contenders – and Chalobah believes not looking elsewhere is key.

‘We’re focusing on ourselves and we have to move on to the next game and not worry about other people.

‘This game’s gone now. We’ll focus on the next game because it’s another big one coming up.’
