Trevoh Chalobah believes Chelsea's players need to show plenty of fight if we are to overcome Everton this weekend, as the centre-back stresses the importance of the Blues finding consistency.
With victories over the likes of reigning Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain, current La Liga champs Barcelona and the most recent Premier League winners Liverpool in the last five months, not to mention lifting the Club World Cup and Conference League, Chelsea have shown they can produce big performances against high-class opposition.
But the Blues head into Saturday's match with Everton off the back of defeats against Atalanta and Leeds United, with a goalless draw at Bournemouth sandwiched in-between.
And speaking immediately after the 2-1 loss in Italy, Chalobah said: ‘We need to pick up our heads and focus on the next game. Every team goes through these patches and it is important we don’t let it get to us and allow it to carry on.
‘We need to look at ourselves and know that with the other players in the room, we have done it. We have got the results against the big teams so for us it is about consistency.
‘There are so many games from now until the end of the year and we need to focus. It is the final details that we need to work on.’
We head into Saturday's match in fifth position, one point below Crystal Palace in fourth and eight behind league leaders Arsenal.
There is little to separate much of the Premier League at present, with just seven points between Palace in fourth and Brentford in 14th.
‘It is frustrating because we know our level, we have shown our level, but now we have to show the maturity,' Chalobah said. 'In these fine games, it is the details you have to nail.
‘We have another opportunity and we can’t just let it slip by. We have to come together in this difficult time and try to pull through.’
Everton have enjoyed a good start to the season under David Moyes.
Only Manchester City and Aston Villa (15) have won more points in the last six Premier League games (13), while the Toffees have won four of their last five matches in the competition, keeping a clean sheet in each victory.
Since Moyes’ first away game back in charge of Everton in January, only Arsenal (30) have won more away Premier League points than Everton (27) and no side has won more away games in that time than the Toffees (eight).
Chalobah said: ‘We have to expect the same things we have seen in the last two Premier League games with Leeds away and Bournemouth away. The physicality will be the same and it is down to those final details.
‘We know it will be a fight and in every game we have to show that fight, that intensity and go and win our duels.
‘We will be at home and we have to use our home advantage to try to get the win.’
