‘It was a difficult game. Of course, Hull is a very good team,’ said our Spanish full-back.

‘I think that when we scored the first goal we controlled the game, but when they equalised Hull did good things. Our team is very competitive and we always have a lot of energy to score goals, but we need to defend better, I think that is the key.

‘Hull want to play long balls and box-to-box. It's difficult because you stay in their area and then you need to defend in our area. They like to run and you need to defend those actions.

‘I think that the team did a good game, but we conceded two goals, so we need to work hard and we need to solve the problems.’

Chavarria came off the bench at half-time to make his fourth Premier League appearance since joining the Blues from Rayo Vallecano this summer.

Although it wasn’t enough to take all three points, the 28-year-old felt the way we came out swinging for the second half demonstrated why he is so pleased to be at Chelsea, where he is settling in well.

‘I think that in the second half we had more energy, more intensity, to win the duels,’ he continued.

‘This team has a lot of talent and it's a pleasure to play with these top players, because we have a lot of alternatives and solutions.

‘For me it's a dream to be here and I'm very happy. I feel very good now and I think that the adaptation is good.’
