On the eighth day of Advent, we celebrate eight of the best goals from Chelsea Women's No.8 Erin Cuthbert.
The Scotland international first signed for Chelsea from Glasgow City in 2017, and has since accumulated 280 career appearances in a blue shirt.
On 8 December, we've narrowed her 68 total Chelsea goals down to eight of the very best…
Arsenal 1-2 Chelsea
13 January 2019
An Erin Cuthbert brace helped avenge a brutal 5-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal suffered earlier in the campaign as Chelsea delivered a 2-1 win at Meadow Park at the start of 2019.
Having put the Blues 1-0 up with a looping header, Cuthbert struck again just after the hour mark with a superb volley from 15 yards out to cap off a match-winning performance at the home of rival opposition.
Chelsea 4-2 Manchester United
8 May 2022
Chelsea won a historic third successive Women's Super League title in dramatic style on the final day of the season with a win over Manchester United in 2022.
It was the visitors who took the lead through Martha Thomas, but Cuthbert's powerful strike through a crowd of red shirts inside the box put the Blues back on level terms with 18 minutes gone.
That provided Chelsea with the platform to go on to win the game and the title after a Sam Kerr brace and a goal from Guro Reiten saw us put four past the Red Devils.
Chelsea 3-2 Manchester City
15 May 2022
Having scored a crucial equaliser to win the title just a week earlier, Erin Cuthbert received the ball 25 yards from goal in the 2022 FA Cup final and had the confidence to let fly with a shot.
The power in the strike saw the ball bounce down off the underside of the crossbar and over the line, putting the Blues 2-1 ahead before Kerr completed another brace to see us secure another trophy with a 3-2 victory.
Chelsea 3-0 Tottenham
21 November 2022
This sublime long-range effort against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge won the Blues midfielder the WSL Goal of the Month award for November 2022.
Cuthbert watched the ball drop kindly outside the box, teeing herself up before firing into the back of the net in emphatic style to help her side to an emphatic win against our London derby rivals.
After being presented with the trophy for her goal, the Scotland international said: ‘I’m delighted to receive this award, it was an amazing feeling to score at Stamford Bridge, made even more special because my dad was there to witness it.'
West Ham 0-2 Chelsea
24 March 2024
Chelsea's battling victory away at West Ham United took us back to the top of the WSL in Hayes' final season in charge, and Cuthbert netted the vital second goal with a stunning finish from just inside the box.
As the corner came in from Catarina Macario, the midfielder chested the ball down before smashing a superbly hit volley into the back of the net.
Barcelona 0-1 Chelsea
20 April 2024
What a time to score for Chelsea, in a Women's Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, and in one of Emma Hayes' final matches in charge.
The Chelsea number eight was teed up inside the box by Sjoeke Nusken, and lashed home her shot to give the Blues a famous 1-0 victory away from home in the first leg of the tie.
Manchester City 1-2 Chelsea
15 March 2025
Last season saw us face Manchester City in four consecutive matches in all competitions. After Chelsea had suffered our first ever defeat under Sonia Bompastor with a 2-0 defeat in the first leg of the Women's Champions League quarter-final the previous midweek, we travelled up to Manchester again to go up against the Cityzens in the WSL.
As the match ticked over into stoppage time, it looked as if we would have to settle for a 1-1 draw, but Cuthbert had other ideas. The Scot scored with a perfectly-timed diving header to steer home a cross from Ashley Lawrence, and her celebration revealed everything about what the goal – and the win – meant to her.
West Ham 0-4 Chelsea
29 September 2025
Now in her tenth season with Chelsea, Cuthbert is still scoring great goals. The eighth and final goal on our list was scored earlier this season as we visited West Ham and raced to a three-goal lead within the opening 15 minutes of the match.
As the Hammers' defence was struggling to contain our forward movement, Cuthbert was able to advance up the pitch unchallenged and drill a thumping long-range shot into the top corner to put us 3-0 up.
