The countdown to Christmas is on and every day across the Chelsea Official App and website, we will be bringing you exclusive Blues content! Here is Guro Reiten on Norwegian customs and new family traditions.

Our number 11 has recently returned to Chelsea following a period of parental leave, having welcomed a new arrival - a baby boy named Felix.

Christmas is therefore going to look very different for Guro and her family this year, and she sat down with us to talk about her expectations for this most special time of year.

What are your first memories of Christmas?

Probably when our whole family was gathered at my grandmother's house, and we baked Christmas cookies. We started when we were young, and there were a lot of children in our family of different ages.

What is the first Christmas gift you remember receiving?

I don't remember, but I remember a photo of me with skis on in my living room. So I guess that's it.

What was the first thing you would do when you woke up on Christmas morning?

Yeah, that's the thing, though. It's different in Norway. We celebrate on Christmas Eve. So on the evening of the 24th, that's when we have the dinner, presents, all of that. Normally, we have a family dinner on the 24th, and then the next day, it's another dinner somewhere. With family, but not with presents, because we've had those already.

What does Christmas Day look like to you now?

I have no idea. Now, Christmas is going to be all about Felix. What he wants, when he wants to sleep, when he needs to eat. So it's going to be all about him, and we've just got to adapt. So we'll see, but hopefully we can squeeze in family time, maybe Christmas movies, food and drink. We need that.

In the future, we would like to make our own Christmas traditions with him. That'll be nice, but I think for this year it's just about surviving.

What is one Norwegian tradition you think we should adopt in England?

In Norway, we're used to having snow at Christmas. So it sets the tone a little bit, maybe. I love London and the lights and decorations and stuff, but with the snow...it just hits a bit differently.

Have you had an English Christmas dinner?

Of course! It's good. I like it. But I find it interesting that you guys eat that every Sunday, almost. Probably minus some of the extra bits.

Do you own a Christmas jumper?

I've never had a Christmas jumper, but I need to buy one because we have Christmas jumper lunch!

What do you hope for this Christmas?

Just to spend time with family and enjoy our new life. We're going back to Norway, so we're going to have to travel with Felix. It will be interesting! But no, I just have fun together. We haven't planned everything yet, but we're going to spend time with family for sure. He is growing so fast, so they want to see him all the time. They call every day. It's nice.
