The countdown to Christmas is on and every day across the Chelsea Official App and Website, we are bringing you exclusive Blues content! Today, Lauren gives us insight into Christmas in the James household...
Having returned to action for Chelsea in mid-November after recovering from an injury sustained while helping England win Euro 2025, the Blues' No.10 is back on the pitch, doing what she loves most, and enjoying the countdown to Christmas.
And before the Blues' final game before the winter break, we sat down with James to discuss festive traditions and explained why things will be a little different for her family this year...
What is your first Christmas memory?
Oh, I'm not sure! Maybe always watching Home Alone.
What does a normal Christmas day look like for you?
Well, normally, Reece is training as he tends to have a game on Boxing Day. This year is the first year they don't have one, so I'm sure we'll have him for the whole Christmas Day this time.
That should mean we can take things a bit more slowly this year because he doesn't have to rush off for training.
Do you have any kind of particular Christmas traditions in your family?
No, nothing in particular. Just a normal, typical Christmas.
What do you love most about Christmas?
Ooh...the spirit of it. Everyone around you, friends and family, just gets you into that spirit; it's cold, you watch Christmas movies and the heating is on in the house. Yeah, I'd say that.
Is there any part of a Christmas Dinner you don't like?
Sprouts!
If you were to invite three other Chelsea players round for Christmas dinner, who would you choose?
Nat (Nathalie Bjorn), Jojo (Johanna Rytting Kaneryd), and Keish (Kadeisha Buchanan).
Do you have a favourite Christmas song?
The Mariah Carey one.: All I want for Christmas is you.
Do you have a favourite Christmas film?
Yep! Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
