Chelsea is delighted to confirm the signing of Mayra Ramirez, with the Colombian forward joining the Blues from Spanish side Levante.

The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal and makes the switch from Levante where she has been plying her trade since the summer of 2022.

At international level, Ramirez has amassed 30 senior caps for her country. She becomes the first Colombian player to represent our women’s side.

‘I am very honoured to be a part of Chelsea,' said Ramirez after completing her transfer. 'To be part of such a huge club is a dream come true and one I’ve had since I was a little girl.’

General manager Paul Green added: ‘Mayra is a dynamic forward who can play anywhere across the front line. We have watched her develop in Spain over the last few years and believe her style is going to suit playing in England.

‘She has great physicality, athleticism, and a good goalscoring record. We’re all excited with what she can bring to the squad now and in the long term.’

A versatile forward who can play across the front line, Ramirez is dynamic and aggressive with good international experience under her belt. She has been a key player for club and country since arriving in Europe in 2020.

After two seasons with Sporting de Huelva, Ramirez made the switch to Levante in the summer of 2022. She has showcased her attacking prowess by scoring 32 goals in 95 games in La Liga over the past four years.

On the international stage, Ramirez was a key member of the Colombia team which reached the quarter-finals of last summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, where they were beaten by eventual runners-up, England.

Everyone at Chelsea wishes to welcome Mayra to the club, and we wish her every success for the forthcoming years as a Blue!
