Chelsea have been handed an away trip to Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
The Blues secured a place in the last eight by recording a 4-3 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux this evening. Andrey Santos broke the deadlock, Tyrique George added our second, and Estevao Willian grabbed a third before half time.
Wolves hit back in the second half through Tolu Arokodare and David Moller Wolfe and a nervy finish appeared in store after Liam Delap was dismissed. Yet a stunning strike from Jamie Gittens gave us breathing room – and ensured Moller Wolfe's late second was just another consolation.
The draw for the quarter-final took place shortly after and Enzo Maresca's side have been pitted against League One side Cardiff City, who beat Wrexham on Tuesday evening.
We last played the Bluebirds during the 2018/19 Premier League season, winning 2-1 away from home.
All of the last-eight ties are scheduled to be played in the week commencing 15 December. Full fixture and ticket information will follow in due course.
