Chelsea have been drawn away to Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League Round of 16.
Having topped the league phase of the competition, with five wins recorded from six matches, our first game of the knockout stage came against Dutch club PSV Eindhoven at Cobham on Tuesday.
A challenging contest for the Blues, who played the final 20 minutes with ten men, ended in a 1-1 draw and required a penalty shoot-out. We prevailed 7-6 on spot-kicks to continue our European adventure.
The draw for the Round of 16, and the pathways to April's final, took place at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, this afternoon.
A difficult challenge awaits the Blues in the Round of 16, as we were drawn against Real Madrid, who finished fourth in the league phase standings.
That game will take place on Wednesday 25 February at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.
Should we progress beyond Los Blancos, we would face either Eintracht Frankfurt or Sporting CP in the quarter-finals.
One of Villarreal, Legia Warsaw, Paris Saint-Germain, or HJK Helsinki would then be in store in the semi-finals.
