Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas are the latest Chelsea legends to be nominated for inclusion in the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2025.
The Blues already have five former players among the 24 names which currently make up the Premier League Hall of Fame, which was created in 2021.
Ashley Cole and John Terry were added to the illustrious list last year, taking their place alongside Petr Cech, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard, as well as some of the greatest players and managers to have contributed to Premier League history since the competition began in 1992.
Now, there could be two more Blues legends added to the Hall of Fame, with Hazard and Fabregas both being nominated for the 2025 inductions, as the choice is opened up to the public.
There is no doubt of the esteem Hazard is held in by Chelsea supporters, who voted him as our Player of the Year no fewer than four times during his seven seasons at Stamford Bridge.
He was also named Premier League Player of the Year in 2014/15, the season he won the first of his two top-flight titles with the Blues. The Belgian was the only player to surpass both 50 goals and 50 assists during his time in England but, more than the impressive statistics, it was the moments of magic Hazard produced which made him so beloved at the Bridge.
Fabregas played alongside Hazard for those Chelsea title triumphs in 2015 and 2017, having returned to the Premier League to add creativity to our midfield after establishing himself at Arsenal and Barcelona.
It was a record-breaking spell in west London, as the Spaniard became the first person to register 15 assists in a Premier League season with more than one club and took his tally for assists in the competition to 111, putting him second on the all-time list.
A total of 15 names are included on this year’s shortlist, with the two Blues facing competition from Sol Campbell, Michael Carrick, Jermain Defoe, Patrice Evra, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Gary Neville, Michael Owen, Teddy Sheringham, David Silva, Yaya Toure, Edwin van der Sar and Nemanja Vidic.
That shortlist accounts for an impressive 5,000 Premier League appearances, 1,000 goals and 44 league titles between them.
Supporters can cast their vote for which nominees are added to the Premier League Hall of Fame here until Monday 15 September. The results of that poll will then be presented to the 24 existing members, who will have the honour of making the final decision on who joins them on the list in 2025.
The two new players added to the Hall of Fame – which the Premier League considers its highest individual honour – will be announced at a special event on Tuesday 4 November.
