Chelsea Foundation today announces changes to its list of trustees including the addition of Chelsea Women captain Millie Bright OBE.

Bright, who has been at Chelsea for almost a decade, replaces Emma Hayes OBE who is stepping down from her role as a trustee.

Talking about her new position, Bright said: ‘It’s a privilege to be taking on the role as trustee for Chelsea Foundation. Throughout my time at the club, I have witnessed first-hand the fantastic work of Chelsea Foundation and have always been very passionate about the power of football within local communities. I look forward to playing my part in the Foundation’s future.’

Also joining Bright as a new trustee is Louise Jacobs, a life-long Chelsea supporter who has held trustee roles at multiple charitable organisations, including most recently as chair of United Jewish Israel Appeal and trustee of Spread a Smile.

Jacobs is a renowned executive and leadership coach, working with clients such as Save the Children and MIND.

She commented: ‘I’m delighted to be joining Chelsea Foundation as a trustee. Together we can break down barriers and drive social change through football. I am committed to working alongside my fellow trustees to ensure Chelsea Foundation maintains its position as one of the world’s leading football and social responsibility programmes.’

The duo join fellow trustees of Chelsea Foundation, Barbara Charone, Piara Powar, Sir Hugh Robertson and chair of Chelsea Foundation, Lord Daniel Finkelstein OBE.

James Murray, chief of staff and head of business operations at Chelsea Football Club, has also taken on the role of interim CEO of Chelsea Foundation.
