Cole Palmer’s brilliant strike against Brighton and Hove Albion has won Chelsea’s August Goal of the Month award.
Our No.10 collected Joao Pedro’s pass just inside the Brighton half and drove at the Seagulls’ defence. Palmer then picked his spot, producing a typically unerring finish into the bottom corner from 20 yards out.
His second of the season turned out to be the contest’s decisive goal in what was a thrilling 4-3 victory for Xabi Alonso’s Blues.
Palmer’s stunning strike was the overwhelming winner of the poll of Blues fans, receiving over half of all votes cast.
In fact, his goal against Fulham finished joint-second, alongside Joao Pedro’s very early strike in the same game - both received 14 per cent of the vote.
Congratulations, Cole!
