To mark the start of Ramadan, we are delighted to announce the launch of Chelsea Football Club’s Muslim Supporters Group, with the chance to sign up already available.

The group, established and led by Chelsea fans, will unite supporters to celebrate Muslim faith, culture and identity. They will collaborate closely with the club to ensure Chelsea FC remains an open and inclusive space for everyone. The group will also look to collaborate with other support groups, including those from other faiths and identities, to work together to raise awareness and tackle discrimination.

The creation of the group and their aspirations to build inter-faith coalitions for combatting inequality builds on the work Chelsea FC and Chelsea Foundation have delivered over the years, particularly through the No To Hate campaign.

Zoheb Gaj, founder of the Muslim Supporters Group, said: ‘I believe in uniting our diverse passions under the common bond of faith and football. In the stands, we are not defined by our differences, but by our shared love for the beautiful game and the values of inclusivity and respect that transcend any boundaries.

‘As a life-long Chelsea fan, I’ve always been impressed and proud of the work the club has done to combat all forms of discrimination.

‘I’ve founded this Group as I envision a vibrant community where our devotion to faith and our club intertwines seamlessly. Together, we celebrate the triumphs on the pitch and uphold the principles of diversity and unity off it - creating a legacy of inclusivity and passion for generations to come. This is an exciting journey for all, and we look forward to welcoming new members to the group with hope that we will provide a voice for Muslim fans all over the world.’

Men’s team player Wesley Fofana commented on the launch of the group: ‘I’m so happy about this opportunity for Chelsea’s Muslim community to connect and celebrate their faith as well as their fandom, and proud Chelsea have provided the space to do this. Religion and football unite people, so bringing them together to mark the start of Ramadan feels special.’

Piara Powar, Chelsea Foundation Trustee, said: ‘Celebrating Chelsea FC’s Muslim community is a crucial aspect of the Chelsea Foundation’s work in promoting religious tolerance and specifically the No To Hate campaign.

‘It is therefore fantastic to see the launch of the first-ever Muslim Supporters Group for Chelsea Football Club launched at the start of Ramadan, connecting like-minded supporters together and providing an opportunity for mutual engagement in a safe space.’

The Muslim Supporters Group will hold its first official event next month at Stamford Bridge to mark Eid, supported by the Chelsea Foundation. This event will welcome supporters of all backgrounds and faiths, alongside key figures within the club and local Muslim community.

You can join the group now as a member by completing the form with your details through the groups’ official website. The group will also be sharing details with members about the event in due course.
