Chelsea Football Club is proud to announce a Premier League and Barclays Women’s Super League (BWSL) first with our official launch on Strava, the app for active people. Built on a shared commitment to fostering connection, community and movement, the club will bring the global Blues family closer together through running, training and wellness.
Joining Strava’s platform and worldwide community of over 195 million users in more than 185 countries represents a new chapter in fan engagement. This collaboration will unlock new, organic ways to unite Chelsea’s fans and deepen their connection to the club and each other.
The account’s global reach will be felt this summer, when supporters and fitness enthusiasts can come together and meet in person as part of both our men’s and women’s pre-season tours when challenges will be introduced. The easy-to-join nature of the app marks another innovative step in the Blues’ mission to bring supporters closer to the club – and each other – wherever they are in the world.
Founded in 2009, Strava was created to replicate the camaraderie of being part of a sports team and aims to connect the world through movement. The platform enables people to explore places to be active, achieve and celebrate goals, and connect with communities - this none more so reflected than through Strava’s Clubs. With more than one million clubs on the platform, and the number of new clubs nearly quadrupling in 2025 alone, they have become a space where people of all levels in their active journey are connecting in meaningful ways in-person.

Scott Fenton, brand director for Chelsea Football Club, said: ‘We are always looking at ways we can use our global brand to bring people together, often in unexpected ways. By working with Strava and becoming the first Premier League and BWSL teams to establish an official presence on Strava, we can lean into participation culture, understand where our fans are while offering new experiences for them and strengthen the bonds that unite our global community. That we can do this through getting people outside and active makes the launch even better.’
Mel Jarrett, director of athlete and community partnerships at Strava, said: ‘Chelsea FC joining Strava as the first Premier League and BWSL team to establish a global club on the platform is a powerful demonstration of how brands are engaging with their communities. We believe shared passion for movement creates real connections, and this collaboration brings that to life for Chelsea's global fanbase. We can't wait to see The Blues' community connect through movement together.’
