We round up how the Chelsea players on loan got on in November, with several players finding the net, while Leo Castledine, Teddy Sharman-Lowe and Omari Kellyman were heavily involved in a tight League One promotion race.

Leo Castledine – Huddersfield Town

Castledine made his comeback from injury with a pair of substitute appearances as Huddersfield defeated Plymouth Argyle and Mansfield Town, before marking his return to the starting line-up by scoring in back-to-back games.

First he curled a free-kick into the top corner from 25 yards to equalise in an eventual 2-1 loss away at Luton Town. He was at it again when the Terriers fought back from behind three times to draw 3-3 with Wimbledon, slotting their first leveller into the bottom corner from the edge of the box, shortly after half-time.

The 20-year-old now has six goals and four assists in 19 appearances across all competitions for Huddersfield, who now sit just two points below Bolton Wanderers and a place in the play-offs.

Omari Kellyman – Cardiff City

Kellyman and Cardiff bounced back from a set-back at the start of November to end the month at the top of the League One standings. The midfielder was in the starting line-up as they were beaten by Blackpool, but was heavily involved again when they defeated Northampton Town.

Omari recycled possession well following a corner, starting the move which led to the Welsh side’s early opening goal in a 3-1 win. Kellyman then came off the bench in a 3-0 victory at home to Mansfield.

Teddy Sharman-Lowe – Bolton Wanderers

The young goalkeeper continued to impress as Bolton maintained their promotion challenge. He has played every minute of their League One campaign so far, with a further three games coming in November, during which they were unbeaten and moved within four points of leaders Cardiff.

Sharman-Lowe helped Bolton to a 4-0 victory over Port Vale, followed by draws with Bradford City and Luton Town, conceding just one goal across the three games, while keeping a further two clean sheets, taking his tally for the season to five.

Jimmy-Jay Morgan – Peterborough United

Morgan played an important role for Peterborough as they reduced their deficit to Exeter City outside the League One relegation places to just one point. That started when his persistence in pressing the Wimbledon defence allowed him to set-up Gustav Lindgren for the fourth goal of a 5-0 win.

The striker then found the net himself, opening the scoring in a 2-1 win over Crawley Town in the EFL Trophy, again as a result of pressing the opposition high, intercepting a pass out by the keeper to net his fifth goal of the season.

Morgan continued his good form as the Man of the Match in a 3-0 win over Stockport County, starting the counter-attack which led to the opening goal, before the rebound from his saved shot produced the second. He also started the two defeats which ended the month, against Stevenage Borough and Doncaster Rovers.

Ishe Samuels-Smith – Swansea City

The defender started November well, coming off the bench for Swansea at Preston North End in the Championship and teeing up Eom Ji-Sung to score from the edge of the box. However, it wasn’t enough to avoid a 2-1 loss.

He started the Swans’ next two matches, one at centre-back and the other at left-back, but they also ended with defeat and prompted a change of manager, Vitor Matos replacing Alan Sheehan, with the team narrowly outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

Ted Curd – Boreham Wood

Curd’s debut for Boreham Wood ended in a 2-1 loss to Tamworth, but he bounced back with his first clean sheet for the club as they beat Gateshead 3-0 and then helped them to a 2-1 win over Halifax, ending November within two points of the top of the National League table.

Aaron Anselmino – Borussia Dortmund

The Argentine defender scored his first goal for Borussia Dortmund, powering in a header from a free-kick as they defeated Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 in the Bundesliga. He also assisted their first goal in a 4-0 UEFA Champions League win over Villarreal. Anselmino had previously come off the bench in a 1-1 draw at Hamburg.

Kendry Paez, Mike Penders, Mamadou Sarr, – Strasbourg

Penders and Sarr both started Strasbourg’s last four matches, with Penders also playing their first game of November, while Paez made one start and two further appearances as a substitute.

The goalkeeper kept his seventh clean sheet of the season in a 2-0 win over Lille, but defeats to Lens and Brest saw them drop out of the European places in Ligue 1. However, back-to-back wins against Hacken and Crystal Palace took Strasbourg joint top of table in the UEFA Conference League.

There was also good news for Sarr on the international scene as the 20-year-old made his senior debut for France in the 8-0 victory over Kenya, having previously featured heavily for the French youth teams.

Nicolas Jackson – Bayern Munich

The striker made four appearances for Bayern Munich, all off the bench. He found the back of the net twice, finishing one-on-one with the keeper to get the Bundesliga team’s fifth in a 6-2 win over Freiburg, then doing the same again to complete the scoring in a 3-1 victory against St Pauli.

David Fofana – Fatih Karagumruk

The Ivorian striker got his fourth goal of the season in Turkey, racing clear to get the second of Fatih Karagumruk’s goals in the 2-0 win over Konyaspor. He also started their 1-1 draw with Eyupspor and 2-0 loss to Besiktas.
