We delve into how the Chelsea players out on loan fared in September, with Reggie Walsh, Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and Ollie Harrison catching the eye…

Reggie Walsh – Wigan Athletic

Walsh has featured in every Wigan match since joining the League One club on loan and has continued to impress with his maturity in the heart of midfield, despite being the second-youngest player in the division so far this season.

The England Under-19 international (pictured top, photo credit: Bernard Platt) started five of the Latics’ six matches during September and was brought on at half-time in the other.

Ryan Kavuma-McQueen – Portsmouth

Kavuma-McQueen is the youngest player in the Championship to have made over 120 minutes this season. He made an impact from the bench in games against Bristol City and Derby County before being restored to Pompey’s starting XI for their final fixture of the month.

He made the most of the opportunity, providing an assist in the 74th minute as Portsmouth came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against Blackburn.

Ollie Harrison, Dujuan Richards – Wimbledon

Harrison enjoyed an excellent month at Wimbledon, helping his side go unbeaten in their final four matches of September.

The midfielder has been a key part of that impressive run, helping the Dons keep three clean sheets and concede just once across 360 minutes of football. Since being named in the team that beat Bromley, Harrison has established himself as a regular in the side, making four consecutive starts.

Richards made his Wimbledon debut from the bench in the goalless draw with MK Dons and impressed enough to earn a first start against Cambridge the following week.

Kaiden Wilson – Rochdale

Wilson has made a fine start to life at Rochdale, featuring in six matches during September. He played 627 league minutes during the month, the most of any of the Academy loanees.

The defender helped his side keep three clean sheets during that run, with his defensive discipline from left-back helping Rochdale's form improve as they have climbed the League Two table.

Genesis Antwi, Filip Jorgensen, Dario Essugo – Strasbourg

Genesis Antwi and Filip Jorgensen have established themselves as regulars for Strasbourg, with both players completing the full 90 minutes in all three of the French side's Ligue 1 matches during September, the highlight of which was a thrilling 6-2 victory against Troyes. Having only turned 19 in May, Antwi is the third-youngest player in Ligue 1 to have played more than 400 minutes this season.

Dario Essugo made three substitute appearances during September, registering an assist in that big win over Troyes.

Shumaira Mhueka – Celtic

Mhueka made five substitute appearances for Celtic in September, helping the Bhoys record victories in each of his first three appearances before successive defeats to rivals Rangers.

Caleb Wiley – Preston North End

Wiley scored his first goal of the season during September, netting Preston's only goal in a 3-1 defeat to Bristol City.

The full-back was handed another start in his next outing and helped his side claim a 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers.

Kiano Dyer – Chesterfield

Dyer was handed two starts in the EFL Trophy and made four substitute appearances in League Two during September.

The midfielder produced an impressive assist in their EFL Trophy clash with Port Vale, helping the tie finish level and go to penalties, where Chesterfield eventually prevailed.

Ishe Samuels-Smith – Notts County

Samuels-Smith made two appearances for Notts County in September, one from the bench before being handed a start in their final game of the month.

The defender acquitted himself well in the 2-1 victory over Grimsby Town, operating in a left wing-back role as the Magpies secured all three points.

Dastan Satpayev – Burnley

Satpayev started Burnley's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough at the beginning of September, playing 81 minutes for the Clarets before being forced off with an injury.

Max Merrick – Hartlepool United

The young goalkeeper picked up a thigh problem during Hartlepool’s game against Woking at the start of September which has kept him sidelined since.

Mamadou Sarr – Real Sociedad

Sarr made three starts for Real Sociedad during September, beginning with an impressive debut against Elche.

The defender helped his side to a 3-2 away victory before putting in another solid display against Atletico Madrid. Sarr also played the full 90 minutes in Sociedad's Europa League meeting with Bournemouth, although they suffered a 2-1 defeat.

Axel Disasi – Crystal Palace

Disasi featured in four matches across three competitions for Crystal Palace during September, keeping two clean sheets in the process and impressing during their Europa League meeting with Lech Poznan.

The centre-back was then shown a first-half red card as Palace fell to defeat against Ipswich Town in the Premier League. He subsequently missed their next fixture through suspension and will remain unavailable for their next two league matches.

Benoit Badiashile – Napoli

Badiashile was a late substitute as Napoli fell to a 3-2 defeat against reigning champions Inter Milan at the San Siro.

Alejandro Garnacho – Aston Villa

Garnacho made one appearance for Aston Villa in September, coming off the bench for the final 15 minutes as they drew 0-0 with Hull City.

Mykhailo Mudryk – Tottenham Hotspur

Mudryk made a late appearance from the bench as Tottenham played out a goalless Premier League draw with Nottingham Forest. The attacker has otherwise been absent for our London rivals after picking up an ankle injury in training.

Robert Sanchez – Como

Sanchez made his Como debut in Serie A against Parma, helping Cesc Fabregas's side to a 2-1 victory.
