The Blues are in Japan and are set to play two games during our time in the Far East. First up, it’s Kawasaki Frontale today and we’ve outlined everything you need to know about the game and how you can watch live online.

Chelsea are in Yokohama ahead of today’s game and Frank Lampard’s squad have been boosted by the arrival of Christian Pulisic, who was given extra time off following his involvement at the Gold Cup this summer with the USA. He could make his first Chelsea outing.

When is the game?

The game kicks-off at 11am (UK time) on Friday 19 July.

Who are we playing?

Our opponents are current J-League champions, Kawasaki Frontale. Find out more about our first ever Japanese opponents here.

The match will be held at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama. This was the venue for the 2002 World Cup final between Brazil and Germany, with two goals from Ronaldo deciding the outcome. We played here twice during the 2012 Club World Cup. It will also host games at the Rugby World Cup later this year.

Squad news

As mentioned earlier, Pulisic is a key face to look out for in the Chelsea ranks following his arrival in Japan. He is expected to feature at some stage and could make his Blues debut on Friday.

Also hoping to be involved will be N’Golo Kante, who is stepping up his recovery work following time in Ireland working on specific individual programmes with the fitness and medical staff. Lampard has hinted that Kante could be involved more in Japan.
