Squad news
After the arrival of the second group of players earlier in the week, our squad in Ireland swelled to 35 ahead of our first friendly against Bohemians on Wednesday. There were two Chelsea teams involved in that game, one in each half, as the Blues played out a 1-1 draw at Dalymount Park. Michy Batshuayi was our goalscorer.
Since then, the following players have returned home to continue their preparations for the new season at Cobham: Lewis Baker, Izzy Brown, Trevoh Chalobah, Conor Gallagher, Marc Guehi, Lucas Piazon, Dujon Sterling and Ike Ugbo.
That means several of the more established squad players could feature against the Pats, including David Luiz, Jorginho and Olivier Giroud.
