The club received many requests from our fans to make it possible to donate outstanding ticket credits and season ticket refunds to important charitable causes at this difficult time, and we made that easy to do with Refuge, NHS Charities Together and Plan International selected as the charities to benefit.The response from our fans has been incredible, with hundreds of supporters donating generously to all three charities, generating significant funds to support the vital work of Refuge, NHS Charities Together and Plan International.Chelsea FC and Mr. Abramovich committed to matching supporter donations to Refuge as part of our campaign to support women and children experiencing domestic abuse during the current unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic. The club has also donated the prize money from winning the Women’s Super League to Refuge.On the donations from our supporters to the three charities, Chairman Bruce Buck said:‘We are hugely grateful to our supporters for their incredible generosity and their continued support for all three charities.The work of Refuge, NHS Charities Together and Plan International is of great importance to the Chelsea community and beyond, and particularly at this difficult time.For our supporters to have raised so much for others, as we all try to stay safe, is a phenomenal gesture and I would like to say thank you on behalf of everyone at the club.’Men's captain Cesar Azpilicueta added:‘Our fans have once again shown that their support for our communities is as strong as it is for the team.‘It has been a really tough time for everyone lately, so the whole club is touched by the contributions made to Refuge, NHS Charities Together and Plan International. Refuge

Refuge provides a national network of specialist services which support around 6,500 women and children every day suffering from domestic abuse, including emergency accommodation, community outreach, independent domestic violence advocacy, culturally specific services and a team of child support workers.

NHS Charities Together

NHS Charities Together is the umbrella organisation for the NHS' official charities in the UK. NHS charities provide extra vital funds and services to NHS hospitals, ambulances, mental and community health trusts and health boards. This funding is above and beyond what the government provides and is spent on enhancing care and experience of patients.

Plan International

Plan International – our global charity partner – works in over 75 countries and is currently responding to the effects of coronavirus around the world. The crisis is having a devastating impact on family lives all over the world, and for children in the world’s most vulnerable communities the challenge could not be greater.

From Cameroon to Cambodia, the charity is providing access to hygiene kits and clean water so people can safely wash their hands, and is raising awareness of the dangers of coronavirus and how to prevent an outbreak in their communities. Plan is also scaling up its work in refugee camps where families live in crowded conditions without access to soap and running water. For most, self-isolation simply is not an option.
