Sonia Bompastor has delivered the latest Chelsea team news ahead of our Women's Champions League quarter-final with London rivals Arsenal.

Chelsea make the short trip to north London on Tuesday evening, where we will face the Gunners in the first leg of the Women's Champions League quarter-finals.

Aggie Beever-Jones looked to be in some discomfort during our 1-1 draw with London City Lionesses on Saturday but Bompastor has not ruled her out completely of the clash.

'We are assessing her, we will assess her tomorrow,' Bompastor said. 'There is still a chance for her to be available for the game, so we'll make the final decision tomorrow.'

The Blues held an open training session on Monday lunchtime, with eight players involved with the main group. While some observers may have been concerned over the number of participants, the head coach explained why there was no reason to be concerned.

'When you are playing a lot of games and having quick turnarounds, a lot of players are doing individual programmes,' said Bompastor. 'So everything is under control and we will have enough players to play the game tomorrow. Don't worry!

'I'm not concerned. I think as a staff, our job is to make sure we prepare the players in the best way possible for them to come into every game. I think we have enough experience in the staff and myself to understand where they are and what is the best preparation for them going into the next game.

'We had two full days to prepare them, and I think we just did what we had to do with them to be prepared for the game.'

We have been missing Ellie Carpenter and Sam Kerr since late February due to the pair epresenting Australia in the Asian Cup. The Matildas reached the final of the competition on Saturday, but lost 1-0 as a result of a goal from Chelsea's Maika Hamano, who is currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur.

Bompastor explained it was unlikely they would be able to feature in Tuesday's away fixture against Arsenal.

She explained: 'Sam hasn't landed yet, and Ellie has just landed. We are in a position where it's really difficult to make a decision for them to be available.

'They are not with us, and we'll see how it goes in the next few days, but it's high [probability] of not having them involved in the game tomorrow.'

Captain Millie Bright is one of those who is definitely missing, but having featured on the bench against London City, Bompastor confirmed that Naomi Girma should be ready to face our rivals.

'Millie won't be available tomorrow,' said the head coach. 'She is still dealing with her ankle, but Naomi will be available.'

A huge UWCL quarter-final second-leg awaits as CFCW take on rivals Arsenal at the Bridge. The stakes have never been higher. Make sure you’re there and back the Blues in this important knock-out fixture!
