Andy Myers’s development squad welcome Blackburn Rovers to Cobham on Saturday afternoon.
After the postponement of last weekend’s fixture at Everton, the Blues will be hoping to make up for lost time in Premier League 2 and here we preview the contest...
When and where
Tomorrow (Saturday), 12pm kick-off at Cobham.
Team news
Myers may welcome back Tariq Lamptey and Billy Gilmour after their involvement in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening. The latter completed 70 minutes before being substituted for Mason Mount, while Lamptey remained an unused substitute.
However, the Blues will be without defender Ian Maatsen, who is currently on international duty at the Under-17 World Cup with the Netherlands. Maatsen has played the duration in both games thus far but is yet to taste victory. The next game he could feature in is the final group stage fixture against the USA – Netherlands will need a victory to keep any hopes of qualification alive.
The opposition
Blackburn currently sit ninth in PL2, seven points adrift of second-placed Chelsea. They will take confidence from wins over Brighton & Hove Albion, Spurs and Southampton, while looking to improve on their point last time out against Liverpool. Full league standings can be viewed below.
Last time out in PL2
Arsenal were our last opponents in the league and we put in a dominant display to take bragging rights from the London derby, continuing the unbeaten start to the campaign.
