Although we suffered defeat to senior opposition in midweek, when our EFL Trophy campaign began with a 3-1 loss to Shrewsbury Town, our Under-21s have maximum points from our Premier League 2 fixtures so far.

A 3-1 victory over Manchester City at Kingsmeadow was followed by a 5-0 thrashing of Newcastle United on our first away trip, making it eight goals scored in our first two matches.
