It's first against second in the Premier League this Sunday as Chelsea host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. It promises to be another enticing evening of football for Blues supporters and here are all the facts and figures to know ahead of the clash.

Twelve matches into the top-flight campaign and Enzo Maresca's side – despite undertaking a truncated three-week pre-season after winning the Club World Cup – sit second in the standings, with 23 points taken thus far.

Arsenal, overseen by head coach Mikel Arteta, are top of the table heading into Sunday's game and have taken 29 points from their Premier League fixtures.

Head-to-head

Chelsea have played more games against Arsenal (211) than against any other opponent – 12 more than against Liverpool and 13 more than Manchester United. Sunday’s fixture will be our 98th meeting at Stamford Bridge in all competitions.

Our last home Premier League win against the Gunners was in August 2018, when Maurizio Sarri was in charge for a 3-2 victory.

Arsenal have lost one of their past 11 Premier League games against Chelsea (seven wins, three draws). Our one victory in that time came at the Emirates Stadium in August 2021, when two first-half goals from Romelu Lukaku and Reece James secured the three points.

The Gunners' current seven-game unbeaten run is their longest against the Blues in the league since a 19-game streak between 1995 and 2005.

After winning five consecutive Premier League home matches between 2013 and 2017, Chelsea have not won any of our last six in the competition at Stamford Bridge against Arsenal (three draws, three defeats).

Chelsea stats

Chelsea have won five of our past six Premier League games (one defeat), winning three successive league matches with a clean sheet for the first time since March 2022.

The Blues have lost two of our last 16 Premier League home games (11 wins, three draws). Our next home league win will be our 12th of 2025. We last beat that figure in a calendar year in 2017 (16).

A figure of 43.5 per cent of Chelsea’s Premier League points this season have come in home games (10 of 23), with only Tottenham (28 per cent) earning a lower share of their points at home.

We have opened the scoring in each of our last seven Premier League matches and have only failed to score in one league match this season; the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on the opening day.

Heading into the weekend, only Manchester City and Arsenal (24) have scored more goals in the Premier League this season than Chelsea (23). Only Arsenal (six), Crystal Palace (nine) and Man City (10) have conceded fewer goals than the Blues (11).

Chelsea have lost one of our last 12 Premier League London derbies at Stamford Bridge (eight wins, three draws), a 2-1 defeat to Fulham on Boxing Day last year.

The Blues are just the second team in Premier League history to go 50 consecutive games without a player aged 30 or older in their starting XI after Aston Villa between September 2012 and January 2014 (59). We continue to have the youngest starting XI in the Premier League this season, with an average age of 24 years and 170 days.

Enzo Fernandez has become the first Blue to register double figures for both goals (11) and assists (11) in all competitions in 2025.

2025 goal involvements
Enzo Fernandez - 22
Pedro Neto - 16
Cole Palmer - 15
Tyrique George - 12
Joao Pedro - 10
Marc Cucurella - 9

Alejandro Garnacho’s next game will be his 100th in the Premier League, becoming the 19th Argentinian to reach that landmark (93 for Manchester United, seven for Chelsea). He provided two assists in a Premier League game for the first time in his career in his 99th match, against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Malo Gusto made his 100th appearance for Chelsea in all competitions against Barcelona.

Arsenal are competing in their 100th consecutive season in the top flight, having last appeared in the second tier during the 1914/15 campaign.

The Gunners last won the Premier League in 2004. They have been runners-up in the competition for the past three seasons.

They are on the longest unbeaten streak in the competition this season - nine. Since their only defeat to Liverpool in August, they have won 14 and drawn two in all competitions.

The Gunners have lost one of their past 20 away Premier League games and one of their last 19 away London derbies in the competition.

They have not lost a Premier League away game following a European match in midweek for nearly five years.

Arsenal have conceded six goals in 12 Premier League games, which is three goals off the pace of Chelsea's record-breaking defence in 2004/05, which set an English top-flight record of conceding only 15 goals in 38 games in 2024/05.

Arsenal have faced just 23 shots on target in the Premier League this season, an average of 1.9 per game.

The Gunners have amassed the highest number of away points this season (13), a tally matched by both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. They have achieved wins at Man Utd, Newcastle, Fulham and Burnley, a draw at Sunderland, and their only defeat was at Liverpool.

Our London rivals have not lost a game in any competition when Leandro Trossard has scored for them (24 wins, eight draws). Only against Liverpool (six) has Trossard scored more Premier League goals than he has against Chelsea (four).

No goalkeeper has more clean sheets in the Premier League this season than David Raya (seven) and Robert Sanchez (six).

Mikel Arteta suffered his first defeat as Arsenal’s manager to Chelsea in his second game in charge, in December 2019. However, he has the third-highest Premier League win rate against Chelsea (58.3 per cent, winning seven out of 12 matches) among managers who have faced us at least 10 times, ranking behind only Pep Guardiola (61.1 per cent) and Kenny Dalglish (76.9 per cent).
