Chelsea are looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League and extend our unbeaten run in that competition under Liam Rosenior. Here are all the vital facts and figures for Burnley's visit to Stamford Bridge.

Following our draw against Leeds United in our last match in the Premier League, Chelsea are fifth on 44 points, six points behind third-place Aston Villa and one point behind Manchester United. There are 12 games to go. Burnley won their most recent league match, leaving them on 18 points, nine points from safety.

Head-to-head

Chelsea have only lost one of our 19 Premier League games against Burnley (13 wins, five draws), a 3-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge on the opening day of the 2017/18 campaign.

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have won nine and drawn six - including a penalty shootout defeat - in our last 16 meetings in all competitions.

Burnley have failed to keep a clean sheet in all 19 of their Premier League matches against Chelsea. Their last top-flight shut-out versus the Blues was a 1-0 win at Turf Moor in August 1973, and they have not kept a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge since 1971.

The Clarets have picked up more points at Stamford Bridge (seven) than they have at Turf Moor (one) against Chelsea in the Premier League. Chelsea’s tally at Turf Moor is the highest share of points (87.5 per cent) one side has won away against another, among teams to face each other more than 10 times.

Burnley are one of the 19 opponents Chelsea faced in our debut season in the 1905/06 Division Two. The game at Stamford Bridge on 18 November 1905 was played simultaneously with another Chelsea XI losing at Crystal Palace in the FA Cup, the only official instance of the Blues fielding two first-team line-ups on the same day.

Chelsea stats

In our most recent league match, Leeds ended our four-game winning run in the Premier League by coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2. We remain unbeaten in this competition in five games under Liam Rosenior.

Chelsea have lost just four of our past 73 home Premier League games against newly promoted sides, although we have won just one of our past five such games (two draws, two defeats), with that win coming at Turf Moor against Burnley in November.

Joao Pedro has been involved in five goals in his last five home Premier League appearances for Chelsea (four goals, one assist). His 10 goals so far for the Blues in that competition matches his total for Brighton & Hove Albion in 2025/26, making him the fourth Brazilian to reach that figure in back-to-back Premier League seasons, after Roberto Firmino, Richarlison and Matheus Cunha.

No team has scored in more Premier League games than Chelsea this season (24), with the Blues’ only two blanks coming in goalless draws against Crystal Palace in August and Bournemouth in December.

Chelsea are the first Premier League side to have a hat-trick scored in consecutive away games in all competitions since Harry Kane did so for Tottenham Hotspur in May 2017.

Estevao Willian has scored seven goals in all competitions for Chelsea this season, the most by a teenager for the club in a single campaign in the Premier League era.

Chelsea named a starting XI without a single player aged 30 or older for the 105th consecutive game in all competitions at Hull last week. The second longest run by a Premier League team is 47, by Aston Villa between August 1997 and May 1998.

Cole Palmer is now our third-highest penalty scorer in the Premier League. The top five are Frank Lampard (41 scored from48 taken), Jorginho (19 from 22), Palmer (18 from 19), Eden Hazard (17 from 19) and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (12 from 12).

In their last Premier League match, Burnley ended a 16-game winless streak, coming from two goals down to beat Crystal Palace 3-2 at Selhurst Park. The Clarets are the first team to go 2-0 behind in the first half of a Premier League game, but still lead by half-time, since Tottenham at Newcastle United in 1995.

Burnley have won eight points on the road this season Their two wins have come at Wolverhampton Wanderers in October and Crystal Palace last week, and they have earned draws at Bournemouth and Liverpool. They have not kept a clean sheet in any of their past 23 Premier League away games, since a 2-0 win at Fulham in December 2023.

Burnley’s win at Crystal Palace followed four consecutive away defeats against London sides in the Premier League and was only their second victory in their last 17 top-flight visits to the capital (six draws, nine defeats).

Burnley have now won four of their last 46 away Premier League matches that have not been against sides newly promoted that season (15 draws, 27 defeats). The Clarets are looking for back-to-back away wins in the Premier League for the first time since May 2021.

There are no suspensions. Moises Caicedo needs to avoid two more yellows in the next six Premier League games in order not to serve a two-match suspension.

Players who accumulate 10 yellow cards in Premier League matches up to and including our 32nd fixture will serve a two-match suspension in the competition.
