After 10 games played in the Premier League, Chelsea sit two points off second in the table, ahead of facing bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers. Here are all the vital pre-match facts and figures...

Head-to-head

Chelsea are seeking a fourth-straight victory over Wolves in all competitions for the first time since a run of four wins between 2011 and 2017.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have won one of their 11 Premier League away games against Chelsea (three draws, seven defeats), a 4-2 victory in February 2024.

Chelsea have recorded five or more goals in four separate Premier League matches against Wolves, notably achieving a 6-2 victory at Molineux last season. No other team has been the recipient of as many high-scoring games against Chelsea within the competition. Additionally, Wolves have conceded five or more goals to Chelsea more frequently than against any other opponent.

Chelsea suffered our all-time heaviest defeat at Molineux against Wolves, in September 1953 in Division One, losing 8-1.

Chelsea stats

Chelsea have lost two of our past 15 Premier League home games (10 wins, three draws). The Blues’ next home league win will be our 11th of 2025. We last surpassed that figure in a calendar year in 2017 (16, also 11 in 2024 and 2020).

Our victory at Tottenham last weekend marked our 1,500th top-flight win in 3,636 matches.

Chelsea have won each of our last nine late kick-offs (7.45pm or later) at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

Both our home defeats in the Premier League this season (against Brighton & Hove Albion and Sunderland) have been down to goals conceded in second-half stoppage time, after we opened the scoring.

The upcoming international break will be the final one of the year. Upon resuming play against Burnley on 22 November, we are scheduled to participate in midweek fixtures for four consecutive weeks, leading up to Christmas.

Joao Pedro had the most shots in the Premier League in Matchweek 10 (five). No player in the competition has managed more in a single game week this season, and only Erling Haaland (14) and Antoine Semenyo (nine) have had a hand in more Premier League goals this season than Joao Pedro (six – three goals, three assists).

Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario made eight saves against Chelsea last weekend, the highest by any keeper facing us this season, and the most in the Premier League since Matz Sels stopped eight shots for Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge in October last year.

Moises Caicedo has made more interceptions (25) than any other player in the Premier League this season.

At Qarabag, Reece James started his 150th game for the club in all competitions.

The visitors come to SW6 again this weekend after a 3-0 defeat at Fulham last week. Wanderers, winless in 10 matches and 20th in the Premier League, dismissed head coach Vitor Pereira after that loss on Sunday.

Wolves have failed to win any of their opening 10 league games in both of their last two seasons, as many times as in their 125 previous campaigns in the top-four tiers. They have gone 14 games in the competition without a victory, having won six in a row beforehand. Their two points have come from draws at Tottenham and at home to Brighton.

The Old Gold are the third side in Premier League history to concede 20 or more goals in their opening 10 games in consecutive seasons (27 in 2024/25, 20 in 2025/26).

Wolves’ last away Premier League win was 1-0 at Old Trafford, against Manchester United in April.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have made more errors leading to opposition goals in the Premier League this season than any other side (four).

Only Fulham (140) have conceded more fouls in the Premier League this season than Wolves (134), with midfielder Joao Gomes conceding the third-most of any player in the division (21). Since his debut in February 2023, Gomes has committed the most fouls (174) and received the most yellow cards (28) in the competition.
