Chelsea Women will play host to Liverpool in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round proper after the draw was conducted on Monday evening.

The Blues, who have won the FA Cup four times during Emma Hayes’ decade of service, enter the competition at the fourth round and have been handed a home tie with Liverpool after the draw ceremony.

As ball number four, we were pulled out of the hat midway through the draw with 32 teams involved and 16 intriguing ties scheduled, with our encounter against Liverpool one of the eye-catching contests to be played in the New Year.

We faced Liverpool on the opening day of the Women's Super League season, where the Reds emerged 2-1 winners at Prenton Park. We are due to face them in the reverse league fixture on Sunday 22 January ahead of our FA Cup fourth round meeting.

We are the current FA Cup holders having defeated Manchester City in last season’s final at Wembley. Two goals from Sam Kerr and an Erin Cuthbert stunner settled a thrilling 3-2 encounter seeing us get our hands on the famous trophy under the Wembley arch.

Domestic football takes a break for the festive period before returning in January. The Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round ties are set to be played the last weekend in January. Further details of our clash with Liverpool will be confirmed and subsequently announced in due course.
