Emma Hayes has made four changes to her Chelsea Women team for today’s visit to Aston Villa in the Women’s Super League, as Millie Bright makes her 250th appearance for the club.
The personnel at the back continue largely unchanged, with goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger and defenders Millie Bright, Jess Carter, Eve Perisset and Niamh Charles all retaining their places in the side following the 4-2 win over Brighton last time out. However, Kadeisha Buchanan drops to the bench, hinting there could be a change of shape at Aston Villa.
Our hat-trick hero from the victory over Brighton, Sjoeke Nusken, also continues in the Blues midfield, but will be joined by Erin Cuthbert on this occasion, who comes in for Sophie Ingle this afternoon.
There are big changes in our attack from the last game, with only Fran Kirby featuring again at Villa. Lauren James and Sam Kerr are the other two players to miss out today, with the latter among the substitutes, while Mia Fishel, Jessie Fleming and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd all come into the side to support Kirby.
Chelsea: Berger, Perisset, Bright (c), Carter, Charles, Nusken, Cuthbert, Rytting Kaneryd, Fleming, Fishel, Kirby
Substitutes: Musovic, Buchanan, Nouwen, Lawrence, Mjelde, Ingle, Cankovic, Beever-Jones, Kerr
