Chelsea Women play at the Cherry Red Records Stadium for the first time on Wednesday evening as we embark on our UEFA Women's Champions League campaign for the 2026/27 season.
The Blues will play home domestic cup and any home European qualifying or league phase matches at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, while all Women’s Super League home matches will be at Stamford Bridge from the start of the campaign.
Our third-place finish in the Women's Super League this season means we will play the qualifier against Real Sociedad to determine whether or not we enter the league phase of the Women's Champions League competition for 2026/27. The match will be played over two legs, with the second fixture at the Estadio Zubieta in San Sebastian scheduled for 2 September at 6pm.

The form
Chelsea won both of our pre-season friendlies, firstly with a 7-0 success against Auckland FC in New Zealand, followed up by a 3-0 victory over an A-League All-Stars side in Sydney.
Meanwhile, Real Sociedad finished third in Liga F this season but in pre-season drew 1-1 with Logrono United and lost 2-0 to Portuguese side SCU Torreense.

This is the first match in our history against Real Sociedad. Last season, we only faced Spanish opposition once, when Ellie Carpenter's stunning strike earned us a 1-1 draw against Barcelona in the UWCL league phase at Stamford Bridge.
