Sonia Bompastor's side kicked off the month with a 2-0 win over London City Lionesses at Stamford Bridge. A hard-earned point against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium was then earned.

A 6-0 demolition of St Polten in the Women's Champions League followed before we travelled to St Helens and registered a 1-1 draw against Liverpool. The last fixture before the international break saw us earn a point against Barcelona in a thrilling encounter between the two sides at Stamford Bridge.

Ellie Carpenter vs London City Lionesses

The opening goal against our newest London rivals arrived after just six minutes. Sandy Baltimore twisted and turned her way into the box on the left-hand side before beating her marker and squaring a delicious ball across the face of the goal for Carpenter to convert at the far post.

Sam Kerr vs London City Lionesses

Our lead was doubled at the Bridge when second-half substitute Kerr sealed the points with a stoppage-time stunner. Erin Cuthbert began the move when she hit an up-and-under ball towards Kerr, and the Australian striker pounced on an attempted clearance from London City.

With the goalkeeper having rushed out to meet the danger, Kerr sensed her opportunity and delivered a stunning chipped finish into the opposite corner.

Alyssa Thompson vs Arsenal

Chelsea got off to a flyer at the Emirates Stadium when Thompson broke the deadlock in the ninth minute. The American created space with her pace, played a give-and-go with Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, and lifted the ball expertly over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

Wieke Kaptein vs St. Polten

The Dutch international broke the deadlock in this Champions League clash, although much of the good work was done before her sweeping finish. The goal started with a wonderful, defence-splitting pass from Catarina Macario, which enabled Carpenter to find Kaptein inside the box and she finished well.

Alyssa Thompson vs Liverpool

Thompson once again scored the opening goal of the game when she cut inside from the left wing to dribble into the box and curl an unstoppable effort into the top corner away at Liverpool.

Ellie Carpenter vs Barcelona

Producing a trademark surge down the right flank, Carpenter wowed the crowds at Stamford Bridge by unleashing a rocket of a shot into the back of the net against Barcelona from a position where many would have expected her to deliver a cross instead.
