PSG Feminine 0 Chelsea Women 1

The Blues signalled our intent in the Champions League with a battling 1-0 win away to PSG on matchday one. We produced a professional and disciplined performance, showing patience and resilience to earn our rewards in front of a relentlessly vocal home crowd through Millie Bright’s clever volley.

Chelsea Women 8 Vllaznia Femra 0

Chelsea blitzed Albanian side Vllaznia at Kingsmeadow with Sam Kerr bagging a four-goal haul and Pernille Harder netting a hat-trick of her own. Substitute Katerina Svitkova scored her first for the club to put the gloss on an emphatic display that took us into top spot in Group A.

Chelsea Women 2 Real Madrid Femenino 0

Sophie Ingle’s first goal of the season and a spectacular strike from Erin Cuthbert maintained our immaculate start to European competition in a tight encounter at Kingsmeadow that went our way in the space of eight second-half minutes. We moved five points clear at the top of Group A.

Real Madrid Femenino 1 Chelsea Women 1

An own goal after Guro Reiten’s penalty hit the post earned us a point in the Spanish capital. Caroline Weir had given the hosts the lead during a first half in which Sam Kerr struck the woodwork twice. Reiten’s lucky escape drew us level and there were chances at both ends to win it, but in the end the point was a good one, even if it delayed our qualification to the knockouts.

Vllaznia Femra 0 Chelsea Women 4

Victory in Albania on matchday five did just that, though.

Skipper on the night Sophie Ingle led the way with the opening goal, followed by a first-half finish from Fran Kirby. Then two substitutes added goals number three and four late on - Katerina Svitkova heading home before Maren Mjelde scored a penalty on a comfortable evening in eastern Europe.

Chelsea Women 3 PSG Feminine 0

Over 10,000 fans inside Stamford Bridge headed home happy having been served a Christmas cracker in our final fixture of 2022.

Sam Kerr put us ahead shortly before the break with a brilliant finish, and Lauren James stylishly notched her first Champions League goals in seven second-half minutes to secure top spot in the group.

Lyon Feminin 0 Chelsea Women 1

In the first leg of our quarter-final tie with the holders Lyon, Chelsea produced a brilliant away European performance to take a lead back to the Bridge with Guro Reiten’s pinpoint finish separating the sides. We limited our esteemed hosts to a single shot against the woodwork and we might have even extended our lead in the second half.

Chelsea Women 1 Lyon Feminin 2 (4-3 on pens)

Chelsea sealed our place in the semi-finals in the most dramatic of fashions. We were going out of the competition until the last kick of extra time, but that was a Maren Mjelde penalty eight minutes into added time that levelled the aggregate scores after Lyon had gone 2-0 up on the night.

When the penalty shoot-out followed, each side saw one kick saved before Ann-Katrin Berger made her second stop from Lyon’s fifth spot-kick to send the Blues through, knocking out the holders and eight-time winners in the process.

It sets up the semi-final with Barcelona brilliantly, and you can be there!
