As part of a Premier League project, Chelsea Football Club is working with White Ribbon UK, a leading charity working to end violence against women and girls by engaging men and boys in challenging harmful behaviours and attitudes.
The collaboration forms part of our wider commitment to making football a safer, more inclusive space for everyone - on and off the pitch.
Through this work, we aim to raise awareness around the role men can play in creating respectful and welcoming environments, particularly on matchdays. We know that, for some female fans, football grounds can still feel uncomfortable or unsafe. By working with White Ribbon UK, we want to change that.
Chelsea FC has four supporter ambassadors on board to support this great initiative, and they are working with the club on several plans to kick things off as the season gets underway.
A steward briefing will be scheduled to increase awareness of allyship and better equip our matchday staff to challenge any incidents of sexism, misogyny or any other forms of discrimination towards women and girls. There are also plans for a supporter survey and for dedicated focus groups to provide a safe space for open conversation, helping us identify practical steps the club can take to make matchdays a more welcoming environment.
Together with White Ribbon UK, Chelsea is committed to encouraging men to take greater responsibility for challenging inappropriate behaviour among their peers, helping to create a culture of respect, safety and accountability across the game.
