Jorrel Hato has been chosen by supporters as Chelsea’s Player of the Month for April 2026, receiving the award for the first time.
The defender has gradually grown in stature since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Ajax in the summer, as he adapted to English football during his debut Premier League campaign.
That saw him named in the starting line-up for all three of our league fixtures during April, playing every minute in that competition, featuring at centre-back against Manchester City and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, before moving to left-back for the away trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Hato was also involved for the full 90 minutes of our 7-0 win over Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-finals, netting his second goal in a Blues shirt to open the scoring less than two minutes into the match.
Those performances saw the 20-year-old receive 44 per cent of the supporters’ votes in the poll for our men’s April Player of the Month. Behind him, goalkeeper Robert Sanchez came second with 20 per cent of the votes, with wingers Pedro Neto and Estevao Willian tied for third on 15 per cent.
Congratulations, Jorrel!
