Ahead of our return to Premier League action, and as we prepare to travel to Burnley, we've delved into the archives and taken a look at some of our best moments against the Clarets at Turf Moor!

JT saves the day!

Burnley 1-2 Chelsea, 30 January 2010

We begin our list of games with one of the many pivotal moments that led to our Premier League title success in the 2009/10 season. As expected at Turf Moor, the Blues faced a tough contest when we challenged north.

Despite taking an early lead through Nicolas Anelka, the Clarets levelled after the break and looked to take all three points, having only returned to the top flight for the first time in 33 years.

John Terry, however, wasn’t having any of it. Up stepped the skipper to head home the winner in the 82nd minute and send us four points clear at the top of the table, as we would go on to secure our third Premier League title later that season.

Fabregas & Costa make their mark!

Burnley 1-3 Chelsea, 18 August 2014

Our next entry comes from our next visit to Turf Moor - for the opening match of the 2014/15 Premier League campaign. With the season just starting, new signings Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa were making their debuts in Blue, and they would give the travelling supporters a glimpse of what was to come over the next nine months.

After the newly-promoted home side had taken the lead, Chelsea soon regained control with the two new boys at the heart of the action. Diego Costa powered home the leveller three minutes after Scott Arfield had broken the deadlock, before Fabregas produced the Blues’ best-ever assist (as voted for by Chelsea supporters!) for Andre Schurrle’s strike.

The Spaniard would provide another assist for Branislav Ivanovic’s goal as we completed a 3-1 win, and the duo would continue to play a huge role as we secured the title that year.

Pulisic’s perfect hat-trick!

Burnley 2-4 Chelsea, 26 October 2019.

At 21 years and 38 days, Christian Pulisic became our youngest player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League as he produced a mesmeric display at Turf Moor. Pulisic overtook Tammy Abraham, who had only earned the record the month before during our 5-2 win at Wolves.

Scoring the first with his left boot, the second with his right, and the third with his head, the American produced the perfect hat-trick to send us on our way to three points. We’ll let you watch how it unfolded below!

Turf Four!

Burnley 0-4 Chelsea in 2018/19 & 2021/22

The Blues have enjoyed some impressive victories at Turf Moor, with four goals a regular occurrence, surprisingly, so we decided to put two of the victories together for our third entry.

The first came in 2018 as Ross Barkley helped inspire us to all three points, contributing with an impressive strike and two assists, alongside goals from Alvaro Morata, Willian and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Our next 4-0 win came in 2022 as a Kai Havertz double and goals from Reece James and Pulisic fired us to victory.

Palmer opens his account!

Burnley 1-4 Chelsea, 7 October 2023

Well, 101 appearances and 45 goals later, it all traces back to Turf Moor in 2023. That afternoon, Cole Palmer stepped up and scored his first goal in Chelsea blue - a penalty - and also provided an assist for Nicolas Jackson in our 4-1 victory over the Clarets.

It may have only been a glimpse of what was to come, but the travelling supporters who made the trip that day can proudly say they were the first to see Cole score for Chelsea.

'Welcome to Chelsea, Cole Palmer.'
