Chelsea will be looking to continue our fine record on the opening day of a Premier League season when we meet Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in August. Here we take a closer look at the facts and figures behind the Blues' matchday one history...

Only Manchester United (22) have won more games on the opening day of the Premier League than Chelsea (20).

This will be the fourth time the Blues have played a London derby at home on matchday one of a Premier League season. We have won each of the previous three: 4-2 v West Ham in 2000-01, 2-1 v West Ham in 2016-17 and 3-0 v Crystal Palace in 2021-22.

Overall, it’s the 15th time we have opened a league season with a London derby and the first time ever we’ve started with four consecutive games against teams from the Capital.

The Blues are unbeaten in our last 15 Premier League games against Crystal Palace (W13 D2), our longest active run against any of the 19 other sides involved in the 2025-26 season.
