Blues captain Reece James' fine form during November has been rewarded by our skipper being voted Player of the Month by users of the Chelsea Official App.

The England international started in five of our six games in November and came on as a substitute in the other, the 3-0 win over Wolves.

James' versatility was on full display as he split his time almost equally between his traditional right-back role and the central midfield berth in which he has excelled of late.

The month started with James forming a formidable partnership in midfield alongside Moises Caicedo during our London derby win over Tottenham, before Reece featured for another 90 minutes four days later away to Qarabag, this time at right-back.

The Blues are attempting to manage James' game time when needed, following a tough few years with injuries, so he was limited to 13 minutes from the bench during our victory at home to Wolves.

After also impressing for England in the 2-0 win over Serbia, James produced another solid 45 minutes at right-back in Burnley, as Maresca withdrew his skipper at the break to manage his workload.

Reece then took his game to new levels in the final - and toughest - two games of the month, as he played a key role in leading us to a 3-0 win over Barcelona, with the 25-year-old's achievements including setting Estevao Willian off on his way for the teenager's memorable goal.

And the best was saved for last, as James produced a display which saw him win the Chelsea Official App's Player of the Match poll for our 1-1 draw against Arsenal with a staggering 77 per cent of the vote.

He was successful in 11 of the 12 duels he contested – a game-high figure - and Riccardo Calafiori, Martin Zubimendi and Miles Lewis-Skelly were all booked for trying to stop him when in full flight.

His dead-ball quality was also on show as he curled in the corner which Trevoh Chalobah flicked in to give us a lead, and his all-action and complete midfield display was one of the main reasons you forgot we had gone down to ten men for the best part of an hour as we pushed the Premier League leaders all the way.

It wasn't just the Chelsea Official App users who appreciated Reece's displays, as he was also included in the Premier League's Player of the Month prize.

Voting for the award closes at 12pm on Monday 8 December – and you can help Reece win by voting for him here!
