In our feature where we ask players to make selections based on their past, their recent choices and what crops up time and time again, Christian Pulisic tells us about a Portuguese superstar he admired, a basic mobile phone he was very proud of, and where in America he likes to go on holiday...

First: What was the first football kit you ever wore?

I had a Luis Figo jersey that I wore because I really liked watching him when I was growing up, so I’d say that.

Last: When was the last time you wore a football shirt of a team you weren’t playing for?

I mean the only thing I can think of is if I have an old Dortmund training shirt that I might just throw on for around the house or for working out, but usually I’d just wear Chelsea kit I’d say.

Always: What is an old football shirt you have kept?

Well I like to swap shirts with all of my American mates whenever I face them in a match, and I’ve kept all of their jerseys. There are loads from when I played in Germany and international games, too.

First: What was the first thing you ate or drunk this morning?

Lucky Charms, cereal. I had that for breakfast this morning.

Last: What is the last thing you normally consume before bed?

I’m not sure about normally but yesterday I had a barbeque chicken sandwich for dinner, so I’ll go for that.

Always: What do you reckon you eat most during the week?

That’s a good question. I eat quite a lot of protein bars alongside meals, to help with energy boosts.

First: What was the first tattoo you had?

One on my forearm, it was a crown and it has a phrase which is very personal to me running alongside it.

Last: What was the last tattoo you had done?

It’s on the inside of my bicep area and it’s of Jesus.

Always: Have you ever had a tattoo removed?

No.

First: What was the first movie you really liked growing up?

I’d say either The Big Green or Space Jam. Those were two of my favourites growing up.

Last: What was the last film or TV programme you watched?

That would be Ozark. It’s a TV series and is really good watching.

Always: What have you watched most often in your life?

I’m not too sure, I watch a lot of films!

First: Where did you go on your holidays when a child?

We would often go down to North Carolina and head to the beach down there. That was always a good family vacation.

Last: What is the most recent place you have visited for a break?

Well at the moment, I’d say here in Hershey! Last summer I went to Mexico for a bit. I was near Playa Del Carmen and that was awesome.

Always: Where do you go to most often?

Down in Florida, for sure. Whether it would be Miami or somewhere else, it doesn’t really matter. I just really like Florida, it’s a cool place and I like to head down there whenever I can.

First: Can you remember the first phone you owned?

I can actually, yes! I had this phone that looked like a Blackberry, but it wasn’t one. It had little keys on the bottom but it didn’t have any apps or way of going online, literally you could just text and call that was it. I don’t remember what it was called, it wasn’t anything special, but I was proud of it at the time.

Last: What was the last app you installed on your current device?

Probably Zoom, the video calling software. I had to do a video call yesterday and we did it through Zoom, so I had to download the app on my phone.

Always: What do you spend most time on your phone doing?

It used to be going on Snapchat but now I’d say probably scrolling through TikTok.

First: What was the first video game you bought?

I remember getting Super Mario Strikers on the GameCube. That game was one of the best ever and I just loved playing it.

Last: What was the last video game you played?

Fortnite.

Always: Who do you always play with?

Yeah I always play with a good friend of mine, Danny Barbir who is with Sporting Kansas City. We’ve been best friends for a really long time, so we always play online against one another.

First: Did you pass your driving test first time?

In the US, yes. First time and no issues. In Germany, not so much, as the theory test took me three times! However, I passed the actual practical driving test first time.

Last: When was the last time you used public transport?

It was in London and I took the Tube. I had a couple of days off a while back and I wanted to experience it. So I put on a little hat, kept a low profile and took some public transport. It was good fun actually!

Always: What music do you always listen to in the car?

With my family we’d listen to a lot of country songs for road trips. So yeah, anything country is always fine with me when driving.
