Carney was the clear winner in our poll, topping the table with 61 per cent of the vote and beating Raheem Sterling into second place with his impressive first goal against Luton (33 per cent).

Sterling’s second against the Hatters took third place but was some way off breaking into the top two, while another goal against Luton – from Nicolas Jackson – was just behind in fourth.

Completing the list were goals from Leo Castledine and Zak Sturge from the Under-21 side, both coming in a big PL2 win over Blackburn.
